eating out in Toronto
we are thinking of booking a trip to Toronto but cannot decide wether to stay in a hotel or an apartment. Is eating out expensive?

No. And you can find every type of food prepared by a native of the country of the cuisine; it's the best thing about Toronto. Even in a very smart place two people would be pushed to spend $300 on dinner. At the other extreme, fabulous ethnic stuff can be had for ten bucks.

Don't stay at Urban Living Suites!
Location is pretty cool, but the accommodation is not!
Can recommend Cafe 668 - Dundas West a couple of blocks west of Markham. Posh veggie nosh in Vietnamese stylee and not very expensive!

If shopping in the Eaton Centre, Baton Rouge has good food but if you want something cheaper then head down to the concourse where you will find the Richtree Market Restaurant.
Tucked away at the back is the rosti bar where I had the most wonderful BBQ chicken casserole, rosti and sour cream dish to die for. One of the other stands also has a delicious yoghurt, berries, oatmeal breakfast dessert dishes sitting on open barrels of ice - it's yummy.
Lots of different foods on offer there and much better than the usual chain food counters offered out by the seating area
