Thumbs up Eagle Ridge, Coquitlam

Looks like a nice place for a young family, anyone live there or any constructive opinions greatly appreciated.

Sorry, where?

You should ask Brizzle about the Lam. He lives there.

I'm guessing it must be near eagle ridge hospital?

Coqutilam is ok but lacks community and connection to anything. It is your typical north american burb with predictable big box stores and little else. Everything is built around owing a car.

sure the homes may be nice with a view etc but that's about it. that's based on 6 months on top of westwood plateau.

THis. If you're okay being reliant on a car/only having generic big box stores/malls near you, it's a great place.

It is probably a little dull for a young single adult, and the houses are probably too big for empty nesters. However, it is probably perfect for raising a young family with all the facilities you need close to hand.

thanks to all.

it's just east of newport village, port moody and seems to have everything we are looking for, all level of schools within walking, nice older property with large gardens, access to parks and trails, swimming, shopping, transport, etc. If I was a single dude most of the above would be replaced with nightclubs, kebab shops, cafe's, book stores, blah blah blah. More than content with a bit of community spirit, family walks and taking the bambinos swimming

it should be fine then. I did feel that there was no real sense of community though, but having said that, I don't have kids. I don't think I ever once spoke to the neighbors.

the highway is undergoing major improvements and there are a tentative plans to extend the skytrain to coquilam centre (where the malls are). access to new port village is a plus.
