Default E cigarette - Toronto

Hi,

I'm going to be visiting my Canadian wife's family in Toronto later this year (we live in UK), and wandered what the legality of e cigarettes are in Toronto?

Over here, we can use them indoors pretty much anywhere - same over there (don't want to go outside in the Toronto winter! )

Thanks.

Electronic cigarettes are now treated in the same way as regular cigarettes in Ontario under a new law that also bans the sale of flavoured tobacco and requires restaurants to put calorie counts on menus.

E-cigarettes now cannot be sold to anyone under 19 years old, their promotion and displays are regulated and their use is banned in smoke-free areas.

The provincial government has just (stupidly) changed the regulations and they are banned everywhere that smoking is banned.

If you are here this calender year you won't experience winter as it doesn't really get a grip on us until January. Even then, it isn't as bad as you think.

Oh, that's fantastic! I bet a salad and four pints is way less fattening than a steak and four pints.

Toronto in winter - may need to pack a long-sleeved t-shirt..

Was watching David Attenborough's frozen planet series the other night and was thinking 'oh toughen up' when he described regular temperatures of -30c as extremely inhospitable. But then 2 Years ago I couldn't have imagined that, let alone minus 45.

I guess it all depends on the dressing on the salad.

............. and, if it is a normal winter, be sure to bring your wet weather gear ..... you can't smoke within 6 metres of doors and opening windows, and on bar and restaurant patios. The BC Provincial regulation is 3 m, but Vancouver has doubled that.

Plus many apartments are banning smoking inside suites as well as in common areas.

What a miserable place Vancouver seems to be. Ugly, highly regulated and expensive (for Canada). Ask people what is has and they say "easy access to the outdoors" which also what they say in praise of Bradford. Bradford though has famously good food.

If I had my way smokers, dog owners and cyclists would all be forced to live together in townships out of cities where they couldn't bother anyone else.

Scourges of society.
