Default Dyson UK Model

I have searched through previous posts but could not find a response to the following:

Has anyone brought a UK model Dyson to Canada and used it either with or without a voltage converter? Our reason for asking is that a shipping company's rep reckons that they work (albetit at a slightly reduced capacity) with a travel adaptor?

Also has anyone experience of shipping a vacuum with customers as we are told that they are vigilant about the dirty within them.

Any thoughts would be welcomed as we are currently shipping?

Regards

We left ours in the UK, but I'd be suprised if they did work to be honest. Jeez, we couldnt even get the wifes hairdryer to work properly.

I guess you have nowt to lose by brining it...

As a word of warning, they're bloody expensive over here.

I didn't think so. How little do they cost in the UK then?

Edit: This is not a product endorsement. They're just as shit as any other vacuum.

Costco online has two different models $600 each I wonder how that compares with UK pricing.

I paid less from Sears two years ago. (But not much less).

Edit: before tax. Just checked with the missus.

But if, like me, you've failed to train your pet and have to rely on family members?

The one I bought was £270 from memory, which is what, around $400 even at todays crappy exchange rate.

The ones I've seen in Costco over here are all over $500.

Even at the OH's record rate of destroying electrical items, we don't buy a vacuum cleaner more than once every couple of years. I think the extra few dollars is not something I'll be losing sleep over.

we've had our dyson for 6 years and it still sucks beautifully. best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. sadly we will have to leave it behind and get a new one in canada, but I have no issues with paying $600 for a new one (although cheaper would be great!). well worth the $$$ I say!

I spent $1,200 replacing an old central vac system last month. The Dyson price sounds like a bargain.
