Bit of a short post eh?

It's hard to balance the keyboard and the whisky while driving down the PCH.

In short "a friend" was done for DUI in Florida and she was wondering if this will effect her, I mean her friends application for PR or TWP

If convicted of DUI then person is inadmissible into Canada under section
36(2)(b) Immigration & Refugee Protection Act. Yes it could affect the application as they are inadmissible. If 5 years have passed since the completion of sentence imposed they are eligible to apply for rehabilitation.

What if the person is already in Canada under their PR and get's a DUI ? Will they be kicked out ?

I've not by the way - I'm just wondering !!!

They could be if they receive a prison sentence exceeding 6 months.
That would then fall under section 36(1)(a) of IRPA.

Nah!, BC is not in the USA, more likely WA it is legal down there now.
