In Vancouver the lights would typically flash green in both directions. Nothing at all to do with a left turn right of way. It took me three or four near catastrophic incidents to catch on. To make matters worse I had Ontario plates on my car and was subject to disrespectful gestures with middle fingers and in some cases some very nasty comments about my intelligence and sharpness of my eyesight.

Is it still like that in Vancouver?

You must come to a complete stop at a flashing red light. Move through the intersection only when it is safe.
That's what you (should) do at a stop sign, innit?
Ahh, I misread the first post as the same as a red light - guess it is the same as a stop sign, bloody confused me though, sat there for probably 5 mins before getting waved on by locals

Think I saw my first evidence of a pissed driver here tonight - he came up to a 4 way stop and didn't stop, just turned left through it regardless of other people being there first, then gingerly weaved down the road and turned into a side street in a strange manner..... had I been a cop, I'd have pulled him over for sure...

when driving round a corner with the posted speed limit at 60 i find that by going twice the speed gets you round the corner just as safe. So in theory going 4 times the limit should also be safe.

Ps this is supposed to be a joke before i get 50 replies stating how stupid I am for considering this
