Question Dr Who

Being a bit of a fan ( Can even remember episode 1) can anyone tell me if Dr Who is available over there. On the credits it says filmed in conjunction with CBC so maybe...?

PBS from Rochester (WXXI?) is showing earlier ones too on Saturday or Sunday night around 10ish...

I find the stop start nature of scheduling here an annoyance.

EDIT saturdays at 11 after a quick search. Its "aliens of london" from 2005 with the slitheen at the moment

Thats a relief to know it's on CBC.. the new DR Who started the year after I moved to the UK and I became hooked... not missed an episode yet, they just seem to keep toping themselves each season! David is amazing, didn't realise he was scottish until watching Richard & Judy when he was being interviewed *lol* Loved Chris too but David has been fantastic at filling those shoes and I find myself very endeared to this latest 'regeneration' I hope there will be many more seasons to come!

I never watched the older episodes although they would repeat on weekends on PBS (purely boring sh*t I called it) along with old episodes of Coronation Street.... seriously, those two progs sent me off to sleep within 15 minutes of watching, and thats not a dig or an insult, putting the telly on those programs would be better then a glass of warm milk!

hi there Daedra .. I don't know if you ever watch the later versions of 'rue Coronation' but Fred just kicked the bucket as he was about to be hitched. High drama I call it.

CBC also repeat the Monday to Friday episodes every Sunday, bright and early.

Well I visited the actual 'Coronation Street' film set in Manchester as Mr Daedra was working for Granada TV studios.. or ITV or whatever they're called now... he brought me there when I first moved over, its so much smaller then it looks on TV! *lol* Bit disapointing really!

Nah I've tried watching Cory but I just can't get into it and I'm not joking Mike, it seriously puts me too sleep and not in a 'i'm so bored' way either! I watch it for about 10-15 minutes and my eyelids start feeling extremely heavy and I start 'resting my eyes'... watching Corry every Sunday morning was a sure-fire way to put me back to sleep

Hollyoaks... now THATS a Brit soap I'll miss when we move to MTL next year... I rarely miss an episode & I find the locations & sets far more entertaining... plus everyones handsome, sexy or beautiful which is a requirement for my TV viewing as it has to be based purely on fantasy to allow me to escape the normal day to day reality LOL!!

Just for you Daedra (and other fans), watch lovely David Tennant here as Casanova. Click on the "Full Episode".

Bodice-busting, a bit raunchy and filled with lots of humour

Yes, I don't have cable anymore but iirc it was something like an extra 6 CAD a month on top of the basic package.

http://www.bbccanada.com/

It's mainly awful home makeover shows with "Smiley Smiley Carol Smilie" but now and again they show something worth watching. Usually non-advertised so you miss most of it, but still

daedra .. I have always been curious: In the opening scene of every episode one sees a train passing over a small bridge which overlooks one of the streets. Yet one never sees the train again in any of the episodes. So is that part of the actual set or is it a 'trick shot'?

Whatever the case, it certainly adds realism.

As to being disappointed I can relate to that. We went to see Universal Studios, California, sometime in 1978. I was impressed overall but we couldn't believe how incredibly small and simple the set was for some scenes from 'Jaws', a big movie featuring a really nasty shark and one which had been made a few years prior. It turned out to be a mechanical beast in a huge tub of water which looked far more impressive on the big screen.
