Default The Dog as a Frequent Flier

For the next couple of years or so it looks like we shall be spending about 6 months a year in Canada and 6 months in the UK.

We would love our dog to be with us (she has an EU pet passport & the rabies injections already as we travelled in Europe in the car & ferry with her) but I wonder how practical this is.

The costs of taking her to Canada are another thing!

Has anyone on here ever done this? Can you buy a dog cage and then re-use it for each trip? How stressful is the travelling for the dog, normally she's pretty laid back and sleeps in the car?

This is just to answer dog crate we shipped 3 dogs over from the UK and 2 crates where built for the dogs and the smallest dog was able to get away with a plastic crate and all are reusable so I doubt you will have any major problems. A lot will depend on size of dog and crate and if you make your own (to requirements) on how well it is made

IMHO that's a bit much for the dog. Once is fine... they may not like it, but they'll get over it. Unless the animal is really really stupid, it's going to go bananas at the site of that crate every six months.
