Does anyone live in Brampton. This is where I will be working for my Job. Its only 30min drive from Down Town Toronto and I like it. Would love to hear from others that live there and their positive thoughts of the place and what near by.

It's probably 30 minutes from Toronto out to Brampton, but it's definitely not 30 minutes from Brampton to Toronto unless you commute at weird hours of the night! We went from Acton to Toronto (which is about 20 minutes past Brampton on the 401) and it took us 2 hours, and that was NOT at rush hour!

I don't live there, but I have a good friends and a cousin who does, so I spent a little time there over the summer.
It's quite near the airport, has a few go stations and some major "motorways" so if you like to travel it's ok. There is also alot of building work going on so maps get out of date pretty quick. They were building a new hospital in the area so it will be well served healthwise.
We liked it when we were there, but this may have had more to do with good friends rather than the area itself. I think it was quite nice, but nothing to write home about. If I was looking for an afordable place to start out from in the GTA, there are alot worse places.

I dont get the big fess, Lots of nice newly build homes and nice parks and when you want to travel anywhere fro weekend it easy to go place near by. Its fine for a place to live. Just wanted to see if others did. Did not need negetive comments. Compared to some place I have lived in England It 100 times cleaner and nicer. I have lived in the midlands, south east, north and Brampton fares well up against some of these places. It all depends what your looking for a guess. Everyone has there own opinions. Dont judge me for where I plan on living. Brampton where I have family. And thats what makes it more important then maybe a prettier place elsewhere in canada. I am sure I will be able to take many many trips to all these wonderfull places when I am there. I will drive so it will be fine.

I live in Brampton
Its nothing to look at houses all same old same old...
But loads of parks and cycle paths,
Shopping is good
Worth noting best curry House out side of Birmingham, not know as bramladesh for nothing
It may be dull but it is close to almost everything worth getting to in the GTA apart form the Zoo
and drive 20mins north your in Caledon which is by is one of the prettiest areas in the South West
I'd say a great place to start out in the GTA, but you probaly won't stay there for ever

They ought to have lived where I did perhaps then they might of have something to moan about! I now have a 4 bed detached house as opposed to the ex-council house I left behind. Don't get me wrong I did like where I lived in London but I/we are so much happier her now.If you are happy where you are then ..enjoy..At least you have some family here (me not) and you are close enough to have a beer
