I am live in Canada now, one of my friends in US is going to visit me recently.

Since many of the people in this forum have US background or frequently travel between this two countries, I would like to know:

1. Whether my friend with H-1 approval notice from INS (but no H-1 visa stamp on passport) is allow to come into Canada for a few days visit WITHOUT a Canada travel visa?

2. what document do he need to bring with while come to the Canada POE?

3. whether the Canada POE will place a stamp on his passport while he enter?

1. Yes, your friend will need Canadian visitor visa, unless he is a citizen of the
country on Canadian visa waiver list. Please read also this very important notice:

2. His valid passport with valid Canadian visa if one is required

3. Most likely.
