Dear Friends,
I am an Indian national and applied for PR under Independent Skilled Worker category in March 2001. Initially I got Interview waiver and was asked to pay ROLF in October 2001 and did medicals in October 2001. During the time I was expecting Landing Documents, in the end of November 2001 Buffalo consulate again said that my Initial assessment was complete then and I need to attend interview for concluding my application. My file was transferd to NYC on 14th Jan 2002. Haven't heard anything yet from NYC consulate. According to the postings in this forum I believe that interview will be scheduled after / around 10 months once the NYC consulate get the file.
My question is, is it normal or do I need to worry about anything. Did anyone came across this kind of situation? Also do I need to get police clearance from India for myself and send to the consulate?
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Balaji

If interview was initially waived and the one requested in November is not the
security or quality assurance interview (the November letter should mention it) then
you have the right to worry as clearly something serious popped-up and resulted in
the interview call. It is recommended to hire an experienced immigration practitioner
in Canada who can gain access to your files and find out what and why is happening.

Mr.Miller, thanks for your reply.
It is not mentioned in the letter whether the interview is for security reason or quality assurance.
When the consulate asked to pay ROLF they requested CERTIFIED TRUE copies of my relevant expericence letters. I did not release what CERTIFIED TRUE copies means and I sent just the copies to the consulate.
Could this be the reason for scheduling the interview. If yes can I send them now to NYC consulate indicating my file number?
Mr.Miller, please clarify.
Thanks & Regards,
Balaji.

One more question Mr.Miller, sorry to bother you.
How do we know whether the interview is for security reason or quality assurance?
Once again thank you.

Balaji

if its a quality assurance interview it usually explicitly says that on the interview letter.

Have you checked your e-status ?
What is your e-status ?
In process or Decision Made ? Does it shows medical received ?

If it wasn't explicitly stated in the letter that it is either security or quality
assurance interview then it is a selection interview and you probably should worry.
In such case it would be a good idea to seek professional assistance. Sending
anything now will not bring you interview waiver back at all.

Balaji:
If it were a security or Quality assurance interview it would be in Buffalo. As it is
in NY it is a selection interview. The best way to find out is to obain a copy of the
CAIPS notes which is CICs computer based record of transactions and decisons on the
file. The notes should tell the tale. You can not obtain the notes yourself as you do
not have any rights under the Access to Information Act but you can give your consent
to a Cdn to do it for you.
