on a uk passport, you can visit canada without a visa.....i think it's upto 6months? but your passport has to have at least a year remaining on it.....i'm not sure about other nationalities passports......check out the info at www.ips.gov

Yes. I've visited Canada six times since 2001 and have never needed a vista. I have a British passport.

Assuming you have a British passport you do not need a visa to visit. People from other countries may need a visa.
However a "VISA" (or other credit card) IS a good idea!
I know this is not what you meant, but thought I'd mention it anyway. They tend to want credit card details for all sorts of things like hotel accommodation, car-hire etc. even if you don't intend to use it for purchases. I had never been allowed my own credit card before I visited
, but arranged one for the purpose, and was glad I did.
Regarding cash, ..... you should find that your UK debit card, or credit card will work in most ATM's, so you don't need to worry about how much cash to bring.
Enjoy your visit. When are you coming?... I hope it's not too cold for you!
