Default Do I need a Cargo Agent in Montreal??

Hello there everyone,

I've decided to send my stuff via KLM Cargo from Manchester because I won't really have that much, just clothes, books, general personal things and it works out pretty reasonable £1.12p per kg..max 1000kg + admin fees.

I called them today just to get a bit more info. and the representative told me that I might need to get an Agent for when my stuff arrives in Montreal.

Is this true? I thought I'd just be able to go to the airport myself to collect through customs.

I'd be grateful for any advice because it seems no matter what I do it always turns into a big deal

Thanks

Abby

If the things you are receiving are personal effects (which it looks like) then why pay someone else to fill in paperwork that you can do yourself? The Candian customs people are pretty helpful as far as I can remember.
