Question Disability

Hi,

what is the situation in Canada for those with disabilities in the work place or for those applying for work. In the UK the Disability Discrimination Act assists. Anything similar in Canada?

Thanks

Well here's something for you to wade through (Google is your friend I once read here!).
Seeing as we don't know where you are I don't know if you're talking about the perspective of emigtation or from living here.

Assuming you have residency and the disability does not affect the persons ability to carry out the job then I would not see a problem. It is illegal to discriminate on abilities, however it happens, proving it is a whole different thing.

I think the poster is asking if he will get discriminated against (on both threads), which of course he will, with the lack of employment protection in Canada. Dbd summed it up perfectly on the other thread. I think a long hard look at the wisdom of such a move in the current climate might be overdue, given the impediments listed.
