Do you get an equivelant to diluting juice (like robinsons) in Vancouver, if so what do they call it?

Squash is one of the few things that isn't readily available and there isn't a decent Canadian alternative. You might find robinsons in british stores. There are a few around; there's one in Steveston for instance.

You might also find lime cordial or something similar with the drinks mixers in some supermarkets (Safeway on Robson had it the last time I was there, admittedly this was 2 years ago). It's not the same (or anywhere near as good) as Robinsons though.

Hi
nearest thing they do is the crystal stuff,
we ended up putting the kids on the 1 litre orange juice cartons or similar flavors.
cheers

You can get Ribena, Lime cordial and some pink stuff, I'm thinking grenadine - I've only ever seen it mixed with alcohol type stuff

You'll just have to bite the bullet and stock up from your local import store, however I did baulk at paying $8.99 for a bottle of High Juice labelled 79p and left it on the shelf.

The only other stuff is the little frozen cans that you pop into a jug and add water too, they are ok.

We bought a bottle of Ribena when we arrived and it's hardly been touched 8 months on. Our kids now drink just water, though we sometimes have a can of frozen lemonade on the go too. The No name one (about 80cents) is actually quite pleasant and could pass for M and S Still Lemonade.

Don't ever make the mistake of buying Kool Aid. I succumbed and bought them a packet last week and made it up, omitting any sugar. It was absolutely vile, when I read how much sugar you had to add, something like 2 cups to 2 litres. I tipped it away before a drop passed their lips.

We buy the frozen juices that you dilute with water too. I really like them; prefer them to UK squash actually! It's a bit of trial and error to find the makes/flavours you like but we have about half a dozen or so different ones that we really like now. We usually have a couple of jugs made up in the fridge at any one time.

We buy the Ocean Spray grape & cranberry, Cranberry & raspberry* etc and dilute with water. Between 10-30% juice and the balance of water. That's what we drink when we want a refreshing drink that isn't water and that's what our 2 1/2 year old drinks too.

* The 100% juice, not the fruit cocktail stuff.

Granthams produce a lemon and orange squash (http://www.nationalimporters.com/ite...temNbr=2136273). Various supermarkets sell it including Safeway.

You beat me to it. In my area its Sobeys I think that carry the lemon and orange squashes, although stock is very hit and miss.

I stick to Ribena, Ice Tea, sometimes the Roses lime, and failing that we have jugs of fruit punch and the sachet based coolaid type stuff in the fridge from time to time. Ive even been known to make my own orange and lemon squash concentrates from time to time. Like AXs , my Kids mostly drink diluted down fruit juice, apple, grape, blueberry etc.

I figure jugs of stuff is the reason for large fridges here...

I missed squash a lot when we first came....and I refused to pay $6 for a bottle of ribena like I did when we first came and it didn't get drunk, so now we use Crystal Lite, I just mix it up daily in jugs and keep it in the fridge, I love the strawberry and kiwi and strawberry orange and banana flavs!!!
