Thought Conrad was Canadian to start with?

He gave up his Canadian citizenship in order to become a lord, and apparently now Canada wont let him have it back.

Well quite, he was a rich man who sought to move to Canada. Admittedly he wanted to do so because he used to be Canadian and thought jail time would be gentler here, but he did fit the frame. The only other famous person I could think of who wanted to move here was Charles Ng, iirc he sought to avoid the death penalty by moving across the border.

The rich and famous bring industry. Whether you like it or not they have pull and friends in high places. Along with a lot of cash.

Why are you so bitter?
You can afford to emigrate...in Britain when this country is 3 trillion in debt. your life can't be that bad. Green is an ugly colour.
