Thanks fore the earlier comments Chrisw84

Yeah I forgot about the amount of timmies cups!
Ive just had to resit my safety courses. There is SCOTT which is just your cscs. Do expect to be doing it for about 3 hours though. Its online so you can do it at home but its just a case of watching all the tutorial videos. Its also impossible to fail.
Could someone please tell me how I quote someone?

metric becomes inches ( don't ask why when we drive in clicks )
3'' x 2'' becomes 2'' x 3''
All the best hope it goes well for you guys

I left from Beith last year for Alberta, haven't looked back once!
I laughed last year when we had some new guys started at work, the first thing they said to us "This is awesome working inside in the winter".
Invest in some WARM and windproof clothing for the winter guys, seriously if you are working outside in the winter it gets pretty damn cold, you feel it in the face and fingertips first.

You know what the warmest item of clothing on a work site is...?
A white hard hat.

OK, so far we have established that the blokes on site drink a lot of coffee and leave the cups laying around, also they have different coloured hard hats
are supervisors in white hats ?
Whats the working conditions like ? time on site ? welfare ? health and safety ?
Is it better to get the winter weather gear when we get there or buy it back home and bring it with us ?

Working conditions will vary with employers, same with starting times, hours, health and safety is pretty much like the UK is(where I am anyway).
I've done 5,6,7,8,9,10 am starts,7,8,9,10,11,and 12 hour shifts,now I work 6 nightshifts per week,5x9 hour shifts,and a 6 hour double timer on the sunday night.
You will make more money here than in the UK,so better buying winter gear over here, maybe buy a few pairs of thermals in the UK(sports direct do them pretty cheap)

You start with a yellow hard hat(noobie),then after passing a safety test you get a white hard at(at least at my place thats the crack)
