I am confident your post wasn`t meant to sound as it did, but I can`t work out what you were trying to say.
No, it is the litigants claiming that the Gov't fees were higher than the cost of service. Under the FAA the Federal Gov't can't charge more for a service that it costs. That is one of the reason that the RPRF was lowered to $490.

Thats a good argument actually. Immigrants are comparatively "cheap" to the state.

Likely hundreds, rather than thousands of dollars. That`s why the class action makes sense, without such a certification very few are likely to pursue as the costs involved wouldn`t make economic sense.

the price that was paid, whether profitable for a Gov authority or not, must have been considered good value by the applicant, otherwise why pay it?

if the fee was paid and the application denied, then sour grapes abound!

gawd help us if speeding tickets are ever found to be contributing to a profit margin. as if!

They had no choice but to pay it. Good value doesn`t enter into the equation.

As PMM said above, there were rules to follow and the Government didn`t. Pay up is what I say

It seems a bit odd. I got an automatic refund ages ago - did these people get overlooked?

I believe that refund was for the RPRF. This is about TWP application fees ( I think )
