You use 30% deet on your kids?

I hope they are in their 20s

I'll have to keep an eye out. They all tend to be well expensive down my way, especially none Deet stuff.

We got the Burts stuff when visiting in-laws up in Maine, as we can get it at Reny's on the way through, which usually has it cheaper

A regular block of soap does the trick too.

Except Dettol Soap, that'll get you dancing

I do not profess to be knowledgeable about this subject but have an interest as I hope to move to Canada soon.
Just thought I would pass on the fact that I was looking on Amazon UK and you can buy 100% DEET
Anyone tried it!

Don't spray that on your shoes, that's for sure

Anything that'll eat rubber and plastic at that percentage, just can't be good for you. But the you won't have to worry about the mozzy bites

I'd like to say thanks to (I think) it was Greenhill / or maybe Tangram - for offering up the Windex trick.

I was mauled on a recent trip and itching like a b*****d, when I finally remembered we had some Windex in the holiday trailer.

Fk it, I thought, I'm trying it. And it works.

My better half got a bottle of the Avon SSS "Bug Guard Plus".

It contains Picaradin instead of DEET, which appears to be a decent compromise. Doesnt last as long as deet, but doesnt eat plastic either.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icaridin
http://www.epa.gov/opprd001/factsheets/picaridin.pdf

I havent tried it yet... watch this space.

The citronella products I use are by Druide. I used them yesterday before I mowed the lawn, and although the mozzies are out in force, didn't get bitten once. I find that if I use the shower-gel/shampoo, and the soap, then top up with the spray, it works fine.
