Daycare Costs
Hm, very pricey in England. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4688826.stm
However, I am paying $900pm for the baby and $6ph for the school aged child (this gets very expensive in the summer natch, as it then becomes full time care). Childminders (aka family daycare providers) tend to more expensive than the group daycares.
However, unlike someone who complained about daycare in Vancouver, I have found it easier to obtain than in NW England....

Right now I am looking at $700 for the baby and $500 for two on the after school programs up here. When I first got here, quality daycare for the two kids in Port Coquitlam was tough to find. Up here in the Fraser Valley its easier, as long as you don't want a baby space. I only got the one I have because of what I do...yes I pulled strings I don't trust family daycares. There is no relief or anyone else (staff wise) checking on standards and the abuse potential is high.
