Default A day in Calgary

So I am off to visit a friend in Banff this weekend but on Monday I have a whole day (until early evening) to myself in Calgary until my flight.

Any recommendations of things to do or see - I will have a small cabin sized suitcase with me so might restriction certain things..?

Thanks

The airport is easily accessible by transit, so you'll have no problem getting back there.

Calgary Tower is worth a look, if you've never been to the CN Tower

There's the Glenbow Museum downtown, which ive never been to, but could be decent if you're into that sort of thing

Lots of good pubs and restaurants along 17th Ave SW and also on Stephen Ave (8th Ave SW)

Loads of driving ranges and minigolf courses now open

Other than that, I'm not sure what I'd do with one day, normally go to Banff or something

Buy a stetson, cowgirl boots, chequered shirt and a pair of Daisy Duke shorts.
If that way inclined you could get leather horse gear and a gun rack if you own a truck.

If you like knicky knacky shops then maybe browse in Kensington or Inglewood. Take in Chinook or Market Mall. The 'Core' is the shops downtown and has Devonian Gardens attached to it.

Hmmmm I think there is a shopping theme somewhere!

So I did my day in Calgary - went and saw the saddledome (from the outside) and the stampede park. Spent time downtown around Stephens Avenue and ate some lunch in the Devonian Gardens.

It was nice to see some well dressed (and some very good looking) men around downtown - makes a change from the scruffy bearded wonders with no sense of style that I encounter every day!

Oh and Banff National Park was amazing, I did some hiking , walking and spent time taking in the views. Lake Louise although busy was breath taking!!!!
