Hooray!
We have booked the flights, we land in Calgary 1st June! Place to live for a while all sorted. Just got to sort all the bits & bobs this side of the Atlantic before we can relax & take it all in.
I think im a bit more excited about the move than my missus as ill have family in Calgary and I know the place relativly well when she has all her family in essex & only ever lived in 2 different towns. Plus she has never been to Canada let alone Calgary & is a bit unsure as to what to expect, especially as we have an 8 month old daughter. Its going to be a daunting few months, but im so so glad that we have decided to make this jump. Plus im sure its going to be a much better place for my daughter to grow up in. Also work opportunities should allow for a better way of life for all 3 of us.
Very excited! & extremely nervous!

Congratulations ! Very exciting indeed. What category did you apply under? We have today sent our application by fedex for the federal skilled trades, my husband passed the red seal and has been in Toronto since January looking for a job/temp work permit until we get our PR agreed. How long was your process ?

Thank you very much! We applied under spousal sponsorship as I hold a canadian passport by descent. We sent off our application mid january, I received the green light to sponsor my missus & daughter early feb. We are still awaiting permanent residency but our situation is that the missus wont be working due to looking after our daughter, so we may as well do our waiting in Calgary. Good luck!

What does by descent mean? Sorry for my ignorance. My brother was born in Canada and my parents came home before I was born, I wonder if I will get any kudos for that.................

My dad is canadian so me and my sister are eligable for Canadian citizenship.
But my children unless born in Canada are not eligable hence the sponsorship application.

Calgary meets Essex OMG. Hey an idea for a reality TV show.

it would be a pretty boring TV show if we were the characters! Were not exactly the stereotypical Essex Party animals, a night out at the Suger Hut is my worst nightmare!
