I think its germane to the OPs question. By emigrating from the UK to Canada you've already demonstrated that your children's education is not one of your highest priorities so it really does't matter what grade they go into as its effectively daycare until they're eighteen.
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...ITERACYWEB.png Im not one to put much store in these international comparisons anyway, the margins between 1st world nations tend to be pretty small, but its hard to argue Canada is inferior based on the data. |
Re: Date of birth and school year
Yeah whatever
And the education in the UK is what precisely... Thanks for the help. I'm still confused but at least I know I'm not the only one |

How is it then that by the time they leave school here Canada tops the UK for literacy, numeracy and scientific comprehension in international comparisons?

It was in fact one of many factors that my husband and I considered when we were deciding whether to stay in the UK or move to Canada. |

Re: Date of birth and school year
Schnookololy. That's it exactly. Thanks so much!
I think the uk education system suited my son perfectly but my daughter not so much. Our youngest will be fine wherever tbh. And I was a high achiever at school but it is no guarantee of happiness so I'm following my dreams from now Although I do have a ******* exam to pass before I can emigrate and I hate exams. |
Re: Date of birth and school year
Happy to help. :) Good luck with your exam!
