Hi Darren, and welcome to BE.
Do you already have PR? Its just that any answers you get will obviously vary depending on if you are instantly employable, or need an employer prepared to go through the hassle/paperwork/wait of hiring you.
If you can let people know what your visa status is, that would be v helpful.
Best of luck.

If you give some more details of your situation, there are hundreds of very helpful people on here that might be able to give advice and point you in the right direction.
Lets start with, are you looking to move to Canada permanently, or just for a year or two?

Thanks for the helpful replies. No, I dont have PR. I'm at the very start of trying to work in Canada. Basically, just need to find an employer who is willing to take me on and sponsor me in.

Also, just looking to work in Canada on a temporary basis for a year to start off.

If not, then I'm not sure it would really be worth it just for a year tbh. You'll probably need to get out there on a job hunting recce to stand any chance of finding work (see the Job Hunting section part of the Wiki for more info on why face to face contact is usually required), so add that time/cost on to the 3-4 months it'll take your employer to get the Labour Market Opinion, then getting the TWP and then potentially needing to sit the Red Seal exams etc, and it seems awfully expensive and a lot of hassle just for a year.
JMO though, good luck with it.

Unless you qualify for a WHV, it ain't going to be easy, Canada is not exactly going through a construction boom right now and there are no shortage of Canadian tradesmen.
If you are sitting at home and wait for someone to E-mail you and invite you to come work for them, it's going to be a long wait. If you get yourself to Canada as a visitor and pound the pavement, you never know you may be lucky.
