Default Damaged British passport

I don’t know if this if this is right place to ask this question but…..

I just discovered that my British passport is slightly damaged and that has a burn mark in the front it out ( I don’t know how on earth this happened! ), do you guys think I should apply to get a replacement passport or stick with my current passport, the passport itself is fine just the front page has a black burn mark and small hole on it (the pages are fine and photo page is fine), will this stop people accepting my passport when traveling, I feel so stupid asking this but really don’t want to have apply for another passport considering that I have only just become a permanent resident of Canada…….

Thank you for any help in advance
