Default Customs strike - real or not?

I saw on the news that customs are maybe going to not collect duty at the border on Monday as a protest, is this real or just a cruel trick and they're actually doubling their effort to get people like me with a carful of loot?! If it is happening, is it at all borders - anyone know how I can find out?

Interestin`?

I know from experience of going backwards and forwards NB to ME, all the Canada Guards want to know is what taxable items have we got, not very interested in security.
So if they do strike, then lets all go and get loads of wine and beer!

That could very well be because they are not Border Guards, they are Customs Officers.
