Evening all.
Having watched the pound fall against the dollar for the 10 days or so, I'm now starting to think I should get my ass into gear & buy some $CAD.
So far, the best rate I can find (for cash) is 1.85 with Crown Currency Exchange based on their 'order about a month in advance' set-up. See here http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com...an-dollars.asp
For comparison....the Post Office is offering 1.79, HiFX is offering 1.79 & M&S is offering 1.80. So we aren't talking a massive difference here, about $77CAD at most. But better in my pocket than in someone elses.
My question is - Has anyone used Crown Currency Exchange and has feedback they can share? Good or bad.
And should I hold out for the good ol' days of 2.30 again? Thought not

lol scroll down here a touch and read the "Exchange rate" thread (probably not all elevnty million pages of it though).
General concensus is don't even dream about 2.30 for many many years
most of us have changed our dreams and would be happy with 2 right now (which is also not on the cards yet
)

Currency Express or ICE is quite good. We had a good rate with them when we went to Canada from Ireland and they deliver currency to your door.

ICE are offering 1.84 right now, and no need to order a month in advance so that's great.
I appreciate the recommendation, I'm more worried about the choice of company tbh rather than the rates themselves. I feel a bit ill about handing over all my hard earned cash to some unknown entity.
Thanks again.

I tried crown last week, all was well at first..good rate etc, then at the end when it came to pay I was instructed to pay by online bank transfer!
I called them the next day and they stated they did not accept card payments, a cheque would take around 15 days and the best way was for me to go into my bank and pay. The day after this I got the bus specially to town (8 miles) and was told there was a charge of £20 for bank transfers...forget it! Used Tesco over the phone, slightly less rate but paid for with card and delivered within 2 days simple.

I didn't even think of Tesco, they are offering 1.81 today.
Cheers again.

I ordered from Tesco on Monday evening for delivery Wednesday morning at a rate of 1.86. It seems to be yoyoing at the moment.
