Crown Currency Exchange
Apologies if this the wrong place for this question. We opened an account with RBC at Christmas and want to take some money over in July. I have found this company who will give me 2.25cad/£ if I order it now. It is delivered by royal mail special delivery on the date you request.
Has anybody used this company? Does anyone know of a way of checking them out?
Thanks
Karen

Re: Crown Currency Exchange
Hi Karen,
Check with your bank; also check with the links on www.moneysavingexpert.com as they offer some good advice. We are planning to do the same, and could get a better rate with our bank, 2.25 isn't great for a large amount of currency at the moment.
We are also opening an account with RBC and the personal banker has indicated that we won't have to pay charges at their end for transferring the money. We have also been offered free banking for a year with RBC, which is great in Canada as they charge for bank accounts normally. It could be because we got a loan with them, but worth a try anyway.
Good luck
Ann

Having looked at their website I would use either Currencies Direct, HiFX or Moneycorp as there is no charge for transactions over £5,000. Crown Currency Exchange will charge you £30 per transaction over £2000. Also they state 0% commission which is a lie, the rate you have been quoted is the Interbank rate less their cut, so how is it 0% commission.
