Default Crossing border into US with pets

Hello
We need to stop off during crossing for US visa admittance
We have limited personal goods we are bringing with us and three pets

What is the pet process, we have their rabies certificates

They will be crated, do they come into the place where we will be issued our US visa admittance ( we have H1's and H4's )

We also want to pick up some duty free beer too, where do we go for that

Thanks

We don't have to get out of the car unless asked by the officer to do so, but when we have taken the dog, the officers have never cared, one asked to see the rabies certificate the others just asked if the dog was returning to Canada with us, but never have any issues either direction.

When we brought our dog to the US they didn't care about any vaccinations. We were only visiting so maybe that's why.

When you are doing secondary, your pets won't be able to accompany you. We crossed at Pacific Highway and they had a couple of kennels that you could leave your dog in while you were doing secondary.

Visiting is different. We have crossed the border dozens of times and have only once been asked for proof of the rabies shot.

I can't imagine a Canadian dog moving to the US is all that complicated either, it certainly isn't complicated to bring a dog into Canada to live. Our dog came from WA state, she was too young for rabies and under 4 months, all the CBSA officer asked was where we found out about the dog, how much we paid, where we got the dog and how old, and off we went.

My dog came from Florida. Now that it's October here she's ready to go back.

We had no issues what so ever entering USA from Canada
Just about 45 minutes to clear border control with US H1b stamping

We also had great customer service from car rental company (different to all the telephone calls we had with them)

At first they said you can not take car into USA
You have to
One way from Markham to Niagara ON
Call taxis to take you across border
Get another one way from Niagara, NY to TX

This was going to be a drama with all our possessions

Arrived Niagara ON and was told, of course you can drive it over the border
Got to Niagara NY and was told, no you can drive it all the way to TX

Easy Peasy
Did laugh when rental invoice came that we did 14,900 miles from start to finish
LOL
