If they'd had a different passport, they'd have been turned round back to Canada for sure, probably after receiving the rubber glove treatment....

I agree BUT you can still be taken into a little room and strip searched.

It's possible that still happened, we left before they did - the reason they were in there was they'd spent all night in Caesar's Windsor (hence being hammered) and the border guard probably didn't believe they were declaring their winnings....

crossing the border dont start me..i broke a finger and had it straped to next finger ,unfortunately i needed to renew my 194 visa went to give fingerprints, the border officer went nuts when i couldnt get my finger flat on machine so i had to cut strapping and try to get my finger flat the result was she leaned over and pressed my finger flat!!.
I now have a finger that looks like im pointing round the corner.
when i filled the paper work in she told me to do it properly, my mistake was when filling in my name/address i started 1 box in every line.
she informed me i had a bad attitude ...suprised me as i said yes/no officer to every question asked and never even argued.

No, but I used to think Charles Bronson was a reasonable Character actor.

I am slightly tempted, if only to shut up folk that think I'm always talking-up my missus. I won't, though.

For some odd reason Souv I have no doubt she is indeed, to put it in the vernacular, 'a fit piece of totty'

Why do think I chucked in my career and financial security and moved to Canada at the drop of a hat?

I wouldn't tell them unless directly asked, just say you're going shopping, I wouldn't volunteer the fact that you'll be landing on your return, none of their business....

Why not just go over, drive 2 miles south, turn around and come back. I know you can't afford to go shopping but surely you can afford an extra 4 miles of gas
