A minor point about emigrating to Canada - is it possible, and if so how difficult, to get televised international Cricket?
Thanks

Only non PPV cricket Ive seen in 7 years was Sky highlites of the one day world cup several years ago, on at odd times of the night.
There are occasional exhibitions in TO, and there is some cricket played in the big cites, but dont get your hopes up of following the test matches on TV here!

I miss the cricket and although I didn't expect to see it on the TV I thought I'd be able to get some coverage of the England/South Africa test series via the UK based Talksport Radio station online as they had live commentary but sadly they didn't have the rights to broadcast it online. So it made me wonder if someone was actually providing such a service because there could well be a market for it and I'd certainly consider paying a fee to hear it but so far my searching hasn't found anything.

In BC they have some sort of cricket league. It was in the media the other day. Based around Vancouver area I think. Something was happening regarding funding I think as they were waiting for official NHL confirmation that hockey will not play again this year, then hoping to attract more funding from taxpayers purse/wallet.
Why watch overpaid idiots (OK so not as overpaid as the Premiership morons)when you could get involved yourself ? Player/scorer/umpire etc- just do it !
Rich.

To be honest, I cannot think of a better reason for leaving the UK. It bores me senseless. There again, maybe baseball will too, but I'll give it a go.
Give me Ice Hockey or Football(soccer) any time. I will miss the Premiership, but I know the NHL will replace it.

NHL is going down hill real fast mate......there was a lockout this season......more players will stay in the european leagues imo.....the audience is not there anymore and players want more money than owners can afford.....it's in bad shape

Good point below, but...like in the UK, where fans are droping off the Permiership and going to watch their local eague or non-;eaghue team. Why ? Obvious really, no razzamatazz, Sky nonsense, aggro, overpaid vile Permiership slobs on the pitch, players who enjoy the game for what it is, a sport not a millionaires/idiots/roasters/spitters/leg breakers/racial abuse/rapists/drink drivers/etc etc (insert suitable relevant anti social psychopathic verb) paradise.
In Canada folks are going to watch their local minors play hochey and from what we saw, it's great ! Kids out enjoying themselves, sure it won't last like this but it should remind fans and players alike what's what - the game is more important that salaries and ego's - that goes for player and franchise owner alike. Get over it and give the punter some entertainment !!!

As far as I can see hockeys main problem is that it moved teams from cities like Winnipeg and overexpanded to markets that have no interest in the sport whatsoever (e.g. Florida, Nashville, Anaheim, Phoenix) and are losing fortunes.
The audience is still here in Canada and probably about 40% of the US teams.
The players are being a bunch of tools.
