Default credit cards

when i go on my reccie trip, I assume I will be using my barclaycard. Is this accepted at most canadian places, or should i take plenty of cash?

No probs whatsoever. I use my UK visa card almost as often as my Canadian one. Do you also bank with Barclays?

If you've got time, you should try and apply for a Nationwide credit card as these don't charge commission on foreign transactions - so you end saving 2-3% each time you use it. Well worth it.

i did not realise that I would be charged on foriegn transactions as much as that. I also have a american express nectarcard. So I am best off using that then.

It's not necessarily documented as a specific charge on your statement, but you'll usually get a poorer exchange rate. Nationwide charge you at the interbank rate.
