Question Court Case

Hi,
I am new to this forum. But I found it useful. Please can someone help me to understand more about PR Application Process. I met with an accident in Nov2003. After a year, the other party sue me of his damage. The court case is still pending as the court keeps postponing the date. The lawyer keep consoling me not to worry for it is just a small matter. If we loss the case, the insurance will have to paid for the damage. My question is, I am in the mist of applying my PR to Canada. Will it affect my process? Will my PR be denied because of my court case? Please help me. Thanks.

The application process looks at any criminal convictions that you may have, and requests that you send a criminal record check. The situation you describe is a civil matter between you and the other driver, therefore will not be present on any criminal records check you apply for.

I hope this answers your question?
