Default country code

Hi all
Im a little confused from what I have read, some websites say you should dial 0044 and then the number minus the initial 0, other sites say you should dial 0044 011 and then the number minus the initial 0.
Can someone who has rang a UK mobile phone/cell phone please help me out by telling me exactly what you dial from CA to get through to a UK based cell phone. I have to put the full number for my referees on my resume and I don't want to make any mistakes. Thanks alot.

mrwilson
my mobile phone number for you to make an example of
