Default Cost of Living between Canada and U.K.

If i own my house Free and Clear in the UK and i need £900net per week to live on what do you think i need in Canada with my house also paid for, i figure £900 per week equates to about $1300cad, what do you think?

I think you'd be looking for ways to spend all the spare cash.

£900 a week net is close to C$94k net. That's about double the average gross wage.

It depends on how big your house is, what car you drive, how many in your family etc..

Yeh but it's relevant for property tax, utilities etc. Same dollar/pound value house as our last place in the UK, property tax is 3.5 times as much here... worth knowing about.

Of course it's worth knowing about, but $94k net and no mortgage sounds pretty sweet to me.

Yes it does. I'd switch places with someone in that situation.

I wont actually have £900net per week but about £650net per week once i get to Canada, i wanted to know wether £650 per week (ie $1300) in Canada has about the same buying power as £900per week in the U.K.

cheers

Where in Canada? (It's a big place and cost of living varies from place to place.)

Drugs are slightly more expensive, prostitutes slightly cheaper, so it'll probably balance out overall.

Living in Canada and America is cheaper, but only if you are being paid in Pounds. If you paid in dollars, you are usually struggling..

Are you saying that the prostitutes here have to work harder?
