Talking Corporate Culture any difference?

Hello!

I'm about to enter the corporate world. So I was wondering if those more experienced professional folks can give me an idea as to how Canadian and British corporate culture differ?

Is it true that it's more laid back here? Also is is true that there is less hierachy in Canadian companies?

Thanks!!!

It's a long time since I worked in the UK so I don't know what the culture is like now but the differences that I found on arrival in Canada were :-

- Absence of "Command and Control" management style in Canada.

- Virtually no barriers to promotion in Canada other than qualifications.

- Respect for management is not automatic and has to be earned in Canada.

- Informal, accessible management style. Many organizations have "Open Door" policies and practice "Management by Walking Around"
