Its a country hotel on the edge of the New Forest - the sort of place you helicopter in, frequented by the proper wealthy. (not me lol)

Never heard of it, is that a restaurant? A skillet is a frying pan. You can buy a skillet with ridges on the bottom, so bacon drains or if you want to put grill marks on a chop or something, but it isn't standard equipment in most homes or commercial kitchens. There are quite a few out there, but most kitchens don't have one. I have a 22" Analon open skillet that I don't call a frying pan though.
