I'm in Toronto guys. Anything interesting seems to be with deloitte or perm jobs at the banks. It's so easier for jobs in Uk for IT. Seems to be a mixed bag here

There is money to be made in IT by getting plenty of good Canadian work experience under your belt over the years. Then you can get those higher paid permanent jobs or long term contracts. I suppose that's true of anywhere though.
Working directly or indirectly for a Canadian government department usually pays well, at least here in Ottawa, where there are probably more of those gov't-related roles (if you don't mind living in the town that fun forgot).
