Our container is due to be delivered today. My son got a call while I was at a job interview to say the container has been broken into.
They dont know if anything has been taken so now I am sat here waiting and worrying.
I know it is insured but some things cant be replaced. If its all still there, it could be damaged.
My husband is at work so unaware of this. I am just praying that his babies (gorgeous guitars) are ok.

Hoo boy! Sorry to hear that. Will keep fingers crossed for you, but in the meantime you may wish to start preparing an inventory of everything that was packed into that container. I seem to remember my family had to do that when items from the container we shipped from Toronto over to the UK many years were not in the container when it arrived! In our case, however, ours was a shared container. Doing up an inventory for the insurance isn't not the point, of course, you naturally want your stuff, but there you go....Do hope everything is there when its delivered!!!!

Thanks for your good wishes but unfortunately, it is bad.
I have my couch, chairs and bed. Some items have been smashed, some have been slashed. The beloved guitars are gone as are our pioneer stuff, all the electricals really. The container was completely ransacked.
I am gutted but we will get thru this.
We wont know whats gone until we completely unpack.
I just wish I could get my hands on the bastards. Stealing is one thing, but to just ruin other things is incomprehensible.
All our clothes were just threw around the container.
Anyway, stiff upper lip and all that (even though I'm heartbroken really), but its just stuff yeah?
We are here to stay.

Tina that is truly awful. I don't know what to say, insurance won't cover your losses emotionally but may give you something towards replacing. I'm amazed that a container could be broken into like that really - I would have thought there would be more valuable containers to break into personally but there you go!

I'm so sorry to hear this Tina.

My hubby was chatting to cop from the CPR a few months back and he said they are having a few problems with containers being broken into when the trains are stationary on Reserve land. Do you know where this happened ??

I do hope you are able to replace the missing or broken items.

This is the thing, no one is sure where it happened. I am a bit peed off cos it was stuck in Montreal 15th to 23rd July, dont know why, so they think it may have happened there.
Will take a while to see whats gone because the boxes are all mixed up now. Most of the boxes had been emptied in container and the removals had just filled boxes and suitcases back up.
Should keep me busy for a bit.
