Hi Andy Chesterfield and family and welcome to this community and your future addiction.........
I suggest you read as much as you can under the meet and greet section 'Read me', then read the relevent sections under Wiki.
You'll find that if you do this then many questions can be answered. There's even a good section on HGV driving in Canada.
If you don't find what you want then probably someone else has asked it before you so you can do a search on the forum using the 'search this forum' facility found on the right side of the blue bar.
If you want to know more about someone on the forum, click on a posters name and have a look at previous posts and/or their profile....
Welcome aboard and hope you find all that you need here and enjoy the research in the process......there is just so much to learn and find out....

Hi andychesterfield,
Welcome to BE. As a HGV driver, there are definitely opportunities for you and yours over here. A number of folk with your skills seem to have made the move.
The Gadget Family have given you great advice re getting stuck into the WIKI. Another place to start getting your head around is the Trucking Forum, which can be found here...

Have you any early thoughts on which part of Canada interests you?
Kind regards,
Eamonn & Janet.
