Talking Conjugal Partner timeline - Buffalo

Hello everyone!

As you may remember, I am a Conjugal Partner App in progress. I'm American, my fiancee Canadian. We applied under the new rules (IRPA) with no professional assistance. I am at an Ontario law school now, in Canada on a study permit.

Sponsorship & PR App received at CPC-M - August 2, 2002
CPC-M began working on Sponsorship App - August 26, 2002
Affirmative Decision on Sponsorship App - September 4, 2002
Acknowledgement of Receipt from Buffalo - September 26, 2002
INTERVIEW WAIVER & MEDICAL FORM RECEIVED - OCTOBER 9, 2002

Looks like everything is proceding quite smoothly! Would I be correct in saying that once my Medical Form is in (as well as my RCMP fingerprint check, I did my undergrad in Montreal so I spent more than 6 mos. in Canada...pro-actively sent my prints to the RCMP last week referencing my recently received file number), I can expect them to ask for my passport soon?

Thanks, and Good Luck to All!

Well I don't know the answer to your question, but wanted to say congratulations! From what I've seen it can take over a year for some applications. I'm just about to go through the same thing, sponsoring my conjugal partner to live in Canada, so hopefully we'll be as lucky as you!

Congrats McGill!!!

One question though ...you were sponsored in-land as a conjugal partner??

I was told this was not possible ...well if this is the case, then this sheds new light on my own case...thanks!!!

Actually I just noticed that you sent your application to CIC Mississauga, so that I guess that means you came here on a work permit *after* you submitted your PR application?

Sorry for the back and forths, but this whole process gets pretty confusing sometimes lol
