Again, I would think something that varies across provinces - which one do you intend it to be??

We had to call it "Gunslingers - Graphique Design" or some such nonsense.

I saw your post and I checked that website. If things are the same in Nova Scotia as they are in Saskatchewan, which they probably are - there are two different entities - business names and corporations. A business name is just a name registered by an individual or a partnership. A corporation is an entity with shareholders and directors and used to be called a limited company because the directors' liability was limited to certain things.
In Saskatchewan you have to pay for any useful information. When you have picked out a name, you need to do a name search to find out if the name is available. In Saskatchewan they will not let you use a name that is confusing with another corporation/company. Some places I think don't care. If you are stupid enough to register Coca-Cola Drink Company - they will take your money and wait for Coke to come along and make you change it. And spend more money registering a new one.
When I was a corporate paralegal we acted for Speedy Glass, which was a Canadian corporation. Federal corporations take precedence over provincial ones. There was a small glass company here with the same name and they had to change their name.
If you contact the Corporations Branch in whatever province you are moving to, they will most likely send you a registration package which you can send back with the appropriate money.

That is the page with the information on limited companies and the fees.
You could do a search on the previous page to see if there is already a corporation with the name that you want.

that way you would probably avoid choosing a name that will be rejected.

Hi swoops
we haven't even got enough room in our bags for a family of 5 mice! Looking forward to weighing in our cases with zoom on their 'sorry you are 10lb over' scales.....more money.
Just got our shipping schedule, 20 days for goods to follow from UK to Halifax and then 7-10 days clearance/delivery.So 4 weeks eating off of Telletubby plastic plates!
Thanks Liz for the info,we wanted to register a name that we could keep and wasn't in conflict with anyone else so those sites are great.

With your culnary skills they'll be coming from Vancouver.
Pehaps I should have kept that a secret but the thought of it just might keep my spirits up!
