Default citizenship question!

Hi all
Just getting my app together to send this week.
Cannot locate the landing papers anywhere (you know, the one you get before PR card arrives)
How do I get a copy of that???
Thanks in advance

Hi, I had the same problem when putting my application together...and found it stapled onto a page of my UK Passport, just where Immigration Officer put it when landing

Just in case....

I go for my Citizenship Oath taking tomorrow. Best of luck

Cheers

I also applied for mine in October and recieved a letter in January saying it may take 12 to 15 months to process. I felt this was an inordinately long time for processing so sent a letter to my MP in askanse.

That was a month ago approximately.

Coincidence? Go figure.

Best to you

Mac

I am over 55 so don't need to do it. Had that not been the case the test would have taken place tomorrow morning along with verification of paperwork etc, and on that being completed and satisfactory, the Oath taking in the afternoon.

One advantage to being more mature then. I had wondered if they would do the test and Oath on the same day. Sorry for all the questions but how much notice did you get from the date of the letter to the date of your appointment?

Hi there

looks like Mac and I both applied in October 2007, he takes his oath tomorrow and I haven't got a date yet. I think on average you can expect to wait for a year.

Panic mode on:

We've just sent two of our passports to Ottawa for renewal. Our landing papers are still stapled in there...... do you think we will get them back? Do you have to submit them when you apply for citizenship?

I wouldn't worry, any time I've sent my passport to Ottawa they've always sent everything back. The will just cut a corner of your old passport to show it's invalid but you will bet it back.

First one in my family to swear alliegence to the crown. Mind you, we did it in French first.
