Citizenship interview tomorrow and we cannot find my husband's previous passport. The one he used when we landed. We have an offical copy of the record of landing, so will this missing passport matter?
The letter say bring all previous passports in your possession which implies that it is ok not to have all of them.

It's 'OK', but if they don't believe he's been in the country for 1095 days he might end up with a residency questionnaire and a year's delay while they process it. I'd find the passport if you can.

I had my other landing paperwork, which they didn't pay too much attention, they seemed more interested in the passports.
I hope not being able to find that passport doesn't cause any issues for you.

Just wanted to wish you luck, not that you need it.

have you sat the test yet. As I recall it was during the test that this was important. Don't want to worry you but they went through every single stamp in mine and Ben's passport.
A colleague at work had the same issue (missing passport), and had to submit further information after passing the test before they would proceed. She left so I don't know how much extra time it added to her application.
if you are at the oath stage then this should have been dealt with and shouldn't be a problem
Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

Regarding the lost passport, is there any other way you can prove you have been in Canada for the required time? Does his current passport cover the time period - if it doesn't then you may have a problem. You need to be able to prove that he has been in Canada for the 1095 days required in the past 4 years.

Ah when we sat our test , they made everyone attend the test centre , you sat at the front if you were over 55. they called everyone up one at a time to go throught he paperwork and then let the over 55s go when the rest of us sat our test.
I think the over 55s would have to come back and swear the oath on another day , just like the rest of us. It was a massive waste of everyones time. you literlaly sat there for hours while the did each persons paperwork.
Ditto for the ceremony itself

They can't focus too much on stamps here in Vancouver - I have no stamps showing readmittance to Canada after trips away as at YVR they have the terminals where you scan your PR card and landing card and then an officer glances at the passport before waving you through. Plus most of my trips have been back to the UK so there is no entry stamp there either. I guess they just pull the computer record from the airport and use that?

We're back. Lovely people, we had to see sommeone more senior re the passports and all she wants is for us to fax her T4s for the relevant years. She said as long as the judge, ie she, approves then we will hear in a few weeks for the oath.

Thanks all, but let's wait till we do the swearing. I like the swearing bit.
There was a lovely old hindu man there, praying all the time he was waiting for his interview. So sweet. Hope he had all the right bits of paper.
