Default childcare

Hi
Was just looking to see if anyone could give me some insight on childcare. we are hoping to come to Nova Scotia and have a 5 and 2 year old.
I would love to hear of any personal experiences of childcare facilities and costs and also what the average employer response to sick children is.

In my UK job and the one I had before I am lucky enough to be able to say that I have found employers very understanding about dealing with sick children and as in most cases I was able to get the work done at home later in the day, had no issues, to be fair I had no issues when someone else had to pick something up for me also.

i am an accountant and hubby is a police investigator, his employers are also great.

Thanks
N
