Default Child Benefit Canada 1st time application

Good Morning folks,

To all my fellow Ex Pat parents out there I am reaching out for advice on the Child Benefit application. We are permanent residents as of January 2018 and have just completed our 1st Income Tax return. Our accountant has advised us that we are eligible for the Child Benefit but just like the Tax Credit system in the U.K which is a mess I am filled with trepidation when putting pen to paper!! I would rather measure twice and cut once and dont want to be in the situation of having to pay back monies if we are over payed.
I am currently filling in the RC66 SCH E form and am cautious of the figures in Part E. My accountant has sent me some figures for both me and my Wife. Do these have to be converted into CAD using todays exchange rate? Surely this would make things look over inflated due to value of currency?
Any help with this process would be greatly appreciated. I often feel with these things that it is two steps forward and three steps back!!

Kind Regards

Alan.

Is this not what you are paying an accountant to do and to advise?

Is this a Canadian Accountant? If it is, they should know the answer to that question!
