you are far cheaper having 2 smaller parcels than 1 big one. even split to 3 parcels. my parents found this out the hard way

Hi

Here is a link, although there is not much info there, when I have sent stuff to Canada I have had to go into the post office to get a price as it all depends on weight etc.

Yes anything under 2 Kilos goes small package rate. I know from being stung at sending Christmas parcels to Canada . I sent 3 parcels last year all just over the 2 Kilos and ended up paying about £40 for each!!!

You could also try sending the parcels surface mail, ie by sea. It takes about 6 weeks for them to arrive but is a bit cheaper.

2-parcel weight 2kg,size 90cm allround-cost=21.07 pounds.

3-surface mail 2kg =11.09 pounds

4-surface mail 1kg=5.73 pounds.

I wouldn't worry about the cost of the postage, I'd be worrying about the duty, taxes and fees on a full team kit!!

I got a cheapie beach bag from the UK the other week - I try not to get stuff sent to me in Canada but this was an exception - and for a declared value of 36 quid, I had to pay 23 Canadian dollars

I do some real checking into DHL before shipping anything with them right now.

Don't know if it affects Canada or not.

Please use the above link given by an earlier poster, the discussion forum at MSE is detailed and advises on the ones to avoid. An example is <25kg to Canada for £25.99 (around $50) includes £100 ($200) insurance and its with Fedex.
