Hi,

I am just exploring auto insurance, and its different. Missing confused.com already as getting car quotes was easy..

Not sure if insurance, on North american cars is cheaper then Japenese make, any ideas?

None at all.

Depends on the car, different models from the same manufacturer will have different rates, as well as where you live (not just province, but town). Insurers also use driver profile, cost of repairs, theft stats etc.

The vehicle isn't going to matter (except in very extreme comparisons, I accept that a Ferrrari 250 GTO will be more than a Toyota Pious). Being new and having no credit rating means expensive insurance on any vehicle. The only control you have is over your postal code, you'd do well to choose one in Alberta or Manitoba.

Our insurance went down by $40 a month just by moving towns in BC. I was pleasantly surprised.

My insurance quote almost doubled, by 'moving' from Milton to Mississauga. All ten miles of it
