Air Canada or if you must Air Transcrap, ooops i mean Transat, I would highly recommend Air Canada and avoid Transcrap like the plague!

If you can live with it, £400 should be enough for a one stop to Toronto on lots of airlines; I've been on KLM via Amsterdam, Continental via Newark, American via Charlotte, NWA via Detroit, someone via Frankfurt, many other routes. Have a look on expedia.

Try Flightnetwork. They will quote you the cheapest prices around. We found a flight with BA from vancouver-london-paris for under $1000.00 including taxes.

DO NOT book with AC until you have exchausted all other avenues, unless you have money to waste. They are very expensive.

Also travelocity, expedia, kayak and orbitz are good ways to find inexpensive flights....

Willmore, i am intregued by your response and entirely dissagree, AC are not that expensive, i just booked with Air canada for june manchester to Edmonton £646 return, November last year same trip £636. Air canada are good value of you book in adviance. You also get excelent customer service from Air canada and complimentry drinks all the way, great inflight entertainment system.

Over christams Air Can were too expensive so i had to fly Air transat - never again will i fly with them, they were atrorious. Are you saying you would rather fly Air Transcrap with their bad reputation than AC? Especially for the sake of £50-£100 retuen fare differance.

I know the question wasn't addressed to me but my answers are several hundred and half a dozen. I'd take Air Transat to save fifty quid.

Well, there you go. I've flown AC many times, although probably not as many as you. Some flights have been very good; others have been dreadful. I've flown AT about the same number of times as you, including across the pond. Never had any problems.

If AT had a regular service from Ottawa to Gatwick, I'd choose them every time.

I've found AT bad when I have used them, Thomas Cook were great and so was AC.

I like AC as they have subtitled movies so I can do something apart from read on the flight.

Anyone flown Monarch transatlantic? I know the seat pitch is cramped but whats the service level like? My choices from NL are AC or Monarch. AC are a known quantity, Monarch are not.
