Question Changing Name when Married.

This may be a silly question but i'm asking it anyway.

What is the situation if, as a British female, and a permanent resident (not a citizen) I married a Canadian?

I mean with regards to changing my name, which I really want to do... Would I just notify the Canadian authorities in Ontario to get banking information, health card and drivers licence changed to my new name?

Obviously I would need to change my passport in England but I was wondering about the rest.....

Are there any British ladies out there that have married Canadians? And if so can you please tell me how you sorted everything?

Do you have a Canadian male in mind. If you get married in QC, you can't change your surname.

She'd have a hard time doing that, she was cremated and that was radical for then too. I never changed my name the first time, and won't the second time either. All my offspring have my last name. Just call me awkward.

You just need your marriage certificate, and you can change all your primary ID with a simple declaration, if you really want to.

Try telling my family that. I simply cannot get the concept into their heads, no matter how many times I try to explain it.
